This recipe is a commercial Italian herb & spice mix and is used to instantly add flavour to stews, soups, pizza and pasta dishes. This is an "All in one" seasoning meaning that no other flavour ingredients need to be added to the dish. Chicken and Bacon Pasta
440g dried pasta
2 x 500g passata sauce
200g smoked pancetta
200g bacon lardons
2 x tsp DA MALAT Italian Seasoning
2 x tsp tomato puree
130g mature cheddar cheese
30g parmesan cheese
3 x Tbsp olive oil
Take a large, deep pan and bring approximately 3.5L water to the boil. Add a pinch of salt to the water and the dried pasta. boil until pasta is cooked and then drain into a sieve.
In the same pan as the one you cooked the pasta in, add the olive oil and heat over a medium flame. Add the pancetta and bacon and fry for a few minutes then add the 2 x 500g passata sauce. Now add the DA MALAT Italian Seasoning and tomato puree and sir in. Once the seasoning mix is blended well into the passata sauce, add the cooked pasta to the sauce and mix well.
Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees C, transfer the pasta mix to an oven proof dish, even out the pasta mix and top with the cheddar and parmesan cheese. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes until the cheese has melted and started to brown.
